Whisper writes it down, on the phone
When you stop, ZwayVoice turns the audio into text with Whisper, the open speech model, running right on your phone. Then it tidies up: capital letters, a full stop at the end, paragraphs, and your brand names.

The speech model is downloaded once inside the app. After that, recording and transcription work with no internet at all.
Install the APK
ZwayVoice is in beta and shared as an Android APK. Allow the install when Android asks.
Download a model
Go to Settings, Whisper models. Small (466 MB) is the recommended balance. This is the only time transcription needs the internet.

Allow the microphone and notifications once. Then tap and start talking.

Does my voice go to a server?
No. Recording and transcription run on your phone. The internet is used only to download a speech model once, and for Google Drive backup if you switch it on.
How well does it handle Hinglish?
Leave the language on Auto, which works best for mixed Hindi and English. Accuracy depends on the model you pick: Small is the recommended balance, and Large-v3 Turbo is the most accurate on newer phones. Adding the names you use to Custom vocabulary helps too.
Does it work in airplane mode?
Yes, once a model is downloaded. Recording, live text, transcription, search and export all work with no connection.
How long can one recording be?
Up to 60 minutes. It keeps recording with the screen locked or while you use other apps, and stops by itself at 60 minutes.
What are smart corrections?
Simple rules applied to every transcript, like “chat gpt” to ChatGPT or “n eight n” to n8n. A useful set comes built in, and you can add or remove your own.
Where does the Google Drive backup go?
Into a ZwayVoice folder in your own Drive, sorted by year and month, with the audio, the text and a Markdown copy. The app can only see the files it created there. Backup is off until you sign in and switch it on.
