On a Mac, the Dock shows one icon per app, and every profile of your browser, be it Chrome, Brave, Edge or Firefox, lives behind that same icon. So your Work, Personal and client windows all pile up behind one icon. You click, press Command and backtick, and click again, until the right face shows in the corner. Chrome Profile Switcher gives each profile its own icon, so you just click the one you want.

The habit breaks on day one
Your hands still reach for the Work button. The Mac only offers one Chrome icon. So you cycle through windows until the right avatar shows up in the corner.
A profile for every client
Each client has its own logins, so each gets its own profile. With four clients open, one Chrome icon means four times the hunting, and one slip into the wrong account.

Each open profile gets its own icon, with its own face
The moment a profile has a window open, its icon shows up in the Dock with that profile’s picture, or its initials, plus a small badge for its browser. Close its last window and the icon leaves.

See every window of that profile, live
Hover a profile’s icon and a panel shows a live preview of each of its windows, refreshed about once a second. Windows on other desktops show up too. Move the mouse away and the panel is gone.

Jump straight to it, even on another desktop
Click the icon or a preview and only that profile’s windows come forward. If a window is on another desktop or display, your Mac switches there. Click the icon again to step through the profile’s windows one by one.

A setup window walks you through two macOS permissions and ticks each one the moment it is on. The app opens at login, so your profile icons are there every time you start your Mac.
Install and open
Open the DMG, drag Chrome Profile Switcher to Applications, and open it once.
Allow Accessibility
This one is needed, so it can tell profiles apart and switch to their windows. Screen Recording is optional and only draws the hover previews.
Use your browser as normal
Every profile with an open window gets its own Dock icon, in every browser you use. Nothing else to set up.
Your browsers, untouched
No second copy, no extension. Logins, history and extensions stay where they are.
Private by design
No account, no analytics. Window titles and previews never leave your Mac.

Only the menu bar app needs permissions. The profile icons never do.
good to know
Does it change or slow down my browser?
No. It watches your browser from the outside. It reads the profile list and works out which profile owns each window. The browser itself is never changed.
Why does it ask for Accessibility and Screen Recording?
Accessibility lets it see which window belongs to which profile and bring the right one forward. Screen Recording is optional and only draws the live previews when you hover an icon. Nothing is recorded or saved.
Does my browser’s own Dock icon go away?
No. The browser’s icon stays and still shows every window. The profile icons sit next to it.
Which browsers does it work with?
Chrome (including Beta, Dev and Canary), Brave, Microsoft Edge, Arc, Dia, Opera, Opera GX, Vivaldi, Chromium and Yandex, plus Firefox, Firefox Developer Edition, Firefox Nightly, Zen, LibreWolf and Waterfox. Each profile of each browser gets its own icon.
Two of my profiles have the same name. Will that work?
Windows are matched by profile name, so two profiles with the same name cannot be told apart. Rename one in your browser and it works.
Which Macs does it run on?
Macs running macOS 14 Sonoma or later, with any supported browser installed.
