Introducing Zway Studios: small apps, shipped in public

Zway Studios builds small, focused software. Today every one of our apps has a home at zwaystudios.com/apps, each with its own page that says what it does, what it needs and exactly where it stands.

What we make

Our apps fall into a few families:

• Mac utilities that fix one annoying thing about daily work: Chrome Profile Switcher gives each Chrome profile its own Dock icon, ZwayRecord records your meetings by itself, so you never forget to press record, and ZwayStorage Warden tells you what deleting will really free on your disk.
• Media tools that keep your files on your machine: LocalDub dubs and captions video into other languages, and ZwayVoice turns speech into text on an Android phone, tuned for Indian English and Hinglish.
• Growth tools for founders and marketers: ZwayRank tracks how AI assistants talk about your brand and then does the work to change it, and AdsMinter batch-renders short-form video ads.
• Workbench projects we use inside the studio every day and are turning into products, like ZwaySpace, a self-hosted team workspace.

How we decide what to build

Every app starts with a specific, repeatable annoyance. A Chrome profile hiding behind one Dock icon. A cleaner that promises 78 GB and frees 9. A voice app that cannot spell the words you actually say. If we cannot describe the problem in one sentence, we do not build the app.

Then three rules:

1. Local-first by default. If the job can be done on your device, it is. Your recordings, voice notes and videos stay with you. When an app does use the cloud, its page says what goes where.
2. One job, done properly. No suites. An app should solve its problem and get out of the way.
3. Shipped in public. Betas open early, the changelog is public, and we are honest about status.

What the status labels mean

• Live means you can sign up or download today, and it is supported.
• Beta means it works and we use it daily, but it is still being polished. Request access on the app page and we send a build.
• In development means it is on the workbench. Join the waitlist and you will hear when it opens.
